It took just two sets for the Springfield Catholic Lady Irish to defeat Aurora Thursday at Catholic, as they outscored the Lady Houn's 25-16, 25-17.

Aurora was forced to play without a couple of starters that were injured before the trip to Springfield. Rachel Parker and Katie Juracek both were unable to play Thursday.

Laken Waggoner led Aurora with five kills and two blocks, and Emilie Shoenberger had eight digs. Setter Regain Cline had 12 assists, as well.

"I thought the girls handled the situation very well," said Aurora head coach Susan Patterson. "Some of them stepped up in positions that they had not previously competed in, and they held their own."
