The number two seeded Tigers of Republic got the best of the Houn' Dawgs Wednesday night in the opening round of the Blue and Gold Holiday Tournament, defeating Aurora handily, 64-25.

Aurora held an early 6-4 lead before Republic reeled off 21 straight, including four 3-pointers in a row, that propelled them to a commanding 39-16 lead.

Republic outscored Aurora 18-6 in the third and a running clock in the fourth ended the game at 64-25, Republic.

Clayton Sumners led the Houn's with 8 points, followed by 5 apiece for Corey Gregory and Andrew Parker.
