In a spring where winter has forgotten to move on, finding a way to get enough high school baseball games in to have a season has proved next to impossible.
But that's where Aurora has gotten crafty, as they will now play a rare double-header on Saturday, April 20. It's not the double-header that's rare; it's the fact that it's against two different Big 8 opponents! Aurora will host East Newton in a make-up contest beginning at Aurora's Baldwin Park at 1 p.m., and then follow that up with a match up against Mt. Vernon at 3:30 p.m. The Mt. Vernon game was originally scheduled to be played at Mt. Vernon on Thursday, April 18, but was rained out. The Mountaineers graciously agreed to play the game in Aurora, as they too are struggling to get games in this season.
